British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.62 percent, or 47.18 points, to close at 7,516.03 points.

Ocado Group, an online grocery retailer, soared 1.69 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. United Utilities Group and GVC Holdings increased by 1.29 percent and 0.91 percent, respectively.

Vodafone Group, a telecommunications company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.13 percent. Fresnillo, a precious metals mining company, dropped 3.04 percent. Royal Mail, a postal service and courier company, fell 2.82 percent.
