Recently, in the 2017 inter-bank foreign exchange market selection sponsored by the China Foreign Exchange Trade System, ICBC was awarded the “Best Integrated Market Maker” for the seventh consecutive year for its outstanding performance in the foreign exchange market making and trading business.

Reports have it that market makers in the inter-bank foreign exchange market refer to the market participants that are approved by relevant departments to be responsible for continuously providing trading prices to market members when conducting transactions between RMB and foreign currencies in the inter-bank foreign exchange market, and providing liquidity to the market through buying and selling. In recent years, ICBC has actively fulfilled its obligation as a market maker to vigorously develop foreign exchange market transactions. At present, ICBC has obtained qualifications for market making in more than 20 foreign currencies, including U.S. Dollar, Great Britain Pound, Ruble and Ringgit, and its business covers all the spot, forward and swap transactions, making itself one of the market makers with the most variety of transactions and qualified currencies in the inter-bank foreign exchange market. At the same time, ICBC has given full play to its advantages in import & export, going global and inviting in customers to operate foreign exchange settlement and sale business for them. In particular, it supports exporting companies to handle settlement and sale of foreign exchange under trade in goods. Over the year, ICBC has achieved a total volume of settlement and sale of foreign exchange for customers of over USD420 billion, effectively supporting the development of the real economy.

It is learnt that the annual selection activity of the China Foreign Exchange Trade System has its final result obtained through systematic index assessment, market voting, and assessment by regulatory authorities, which has the highest prestige in the inter-bank foreign exchange market.
