ICBC Becomes the World’s Most Valuable Banking Brand

The Banker has recently released the Top 500 Banking Brands 2017, and ICBC became the most valuable banking brand for USD 47.832 billion. China’s aggregate brand valuation surpassed the US to lead the country table for the first time for a brand value of USD 259.2 billion.

In growth rate of brand value, listed Chinese banks post a 25% growth, higher than 7% of the US banking industry. The growth rate of ICBC reaches 32%. I said in the article published along with the list that ICBC’s brand has gone global during the process of serving its customers and supporting participation in international markets. By continuously driving transformation from a local bank to an international bank, the brand is attracting greater attention and winning recognition worldwide. In 2016, ICBC also carried out a series of brand campaigns, including “e-ICBC” brand building, and practice of social responsibilities by providing jobs for college graduates from poverty-stricken families, which helped the Bank further enhance the brand value.

The list of Top 500 Banking Brands is an annual brand appraisal event organized by The Banker magazine and Brand Finance, a British brand value research institution. Released in each February, the event has continued for 11 consecutive years.
