ICBC Global Market: FX Market Update - December 22, 2016
 

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of six major rival currencies, retreated from a 14-year high on Wednesday in a muted market as some traders cut their dollar positions to cash in profits. The index fell 0.26 percent at 103.02. The euro rose 0.37 percent at $1.0423 against the greenback. Against the yen, the dollar was down 0.25 percent at 117.54. The euro is expected to meet resistance and support against the dollar at $1.0540 and $1.0300 respectively, while the dollar is expected to meet resistance and support against the yen at 119.00 and 116.20 respectively.
